Editorial standards
Every story on this site states its classification, its evidence stage, and any disclosure that applies. Nothing publishes without human review.
Evidence rating method
The rating describes the maturity of the evidence behind a story, not our enthusiasm for it. A promising early result and a settled regulatory decision are both worth covering; they are not worth the same confidence.
Established
Regulatory action, peer-reviewed systematic evidence, or a neutral summary of well-supported findings.

Emerging
Early-stage or small studies, single-institution results, or company-reported data. Promising but unproven.

Reporting and review
Stories are researched from primary sources — regulatory records, trial registries, peer-reviewed literature, and direct interviews — and written originally. We do not republish or rewrite other outlets' articles as our own reporting.
Medically sensitive material is reviewed by a clinician or claims reviewer before publication. Any story making or reporting a treatment claim carries a limitations section, and a publisher approves every item before it goes live.
Advertising and sponsored content
Paid material lives in the Newsroom, is visually distinct from reporting, and is labeled as a Press Release, Sponsored Feature, or Company Announcement. Sponsors do not review, influence, or receive advance access to editorial coverage.
Ownership and conflicts
Relationships between NSH's ownership and any organization covered are disclosed on the story. Sources' funding and patent interests are disclosed in profiles. Where a conflict cannot be adequately disclosed, we do not run the story.
Corrections and retractions
Errors are corrected in place with a dated, visible note describing what changed. Where a story's central finding is invalidated, it is retracted rather than quietly edited. See corrections and retractions.
